FAQ
Where do you post to?
We ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
How long will it take to get my orders?
It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-21 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
What if my towel gets a pull in it?
If you spot any loose threads, simply snip them off with sharp scissors. Do not pull the loose thread. At times you may catch a loop on jewellery, or something in the washing machine. It is not a fault or an issue - each loop is it's own thread so snipping them off will not effect the towels structure or quality.
Where in Turkey are they made?
Our towels are made a weaving town in central Turkey.
In the last 20 years, on account of new mass-producing textile factories, the number of known weavers in Turkey who retain the expertise of working on old-style shuttled looms has dwindled to less than a dozen families and a few scattered individuals.
How are Loom Towels different to other “hand-loomed” towels?
Not all “hand-loomed” towels are created equally.
Many brands use the term loosely. In reality, much of what is described as hand-loomed is produced on semi-automatic or fully automatic looms within small factory settings. These towels are often woven quickly, in high volumes, and commonly blended with synthetic fibres to reduce cost. If someone is selling thousands of towels - they are not hand-loomed.
Loom Towels are woven in limited editions on traditional shuttle looms by weavers we have worked with for over a decade. Each piece carries the subtle irregularities and integrity that only human hands can create.
We use GOTS-certified organic cotton and natural fibres only. No synthetic blends. No chemical finishes to create a false softness or artificial absorbency. Many mass-produced towels are treated to enhance their feel on first use; once those coatings wash away, the fibre is left weakened, often resulting in a rough or “crunchy” texture over time.
Our towels are designed to soften naturally, age beautifully, and last for years.
What is the absorbency like?
Highly absorbent - by nature, not by chemical enhancement.
Because our cotton is GOTS-certified organic and free from synthetic coatings or absorbency treatments, it behaves as pure cotton should. Unlike mass-produced towels that are chemically treated for immediate performance, Loom Towels rely on the integrity of the fibre itself.
To optimise absorbency, soak your towel in cold water for 24 hours before first use. Gently squeeze out the excess water, then hang to drip dry or wash on a cold cycle and tumble dry. It may take a couple of cycles for the fibres to fully relax. This simple process allows the organic cotton to open and bloom naturally.
From there, the towel will continue to soften and increase in absorbency with each use and wash.
Nothing artificial. Just beautiful organic cotton and linen, performing exactly as it should.
What do we mean by limited editions?
Each Loom collection is produced in quantities typically between 100 and 150 pieces per design.
Designs that feature colour are created as special editions and are not remade.
Our core classics - Black & White Wave, Grey & White Wave, Ecru, White, Navy & Tan do return, but even these shift subtly from batch to batch. The nature of traditional shuttle looms, natural fibres and small-scale production means no two runs are ever exactly the same.
Every collection is exclusively designed by founder Mikala James. Textiles, to her, are never purely functional; they bring warmth, depth and a sense of history into contemporary spaces.
